The Romance Tea is organized and benefits the Richardson Public Library and the Richardson Adult Literacy Center.

Richardson Public Library

The mission of the library is to make freely and readily available to the citizens of the community materials which will aid them in the pursuit of education, information, and recreation. The library seeks to promote activities and ideas which will stimulate and expand the reading interests of both children and adults and to cooperate with other educational, cultural, social and civic groups in the community in areas of mutual interest.

Richardson Adult Literacy Center

The Richardson Adult Literacy Center is an accredited ProLiteracy America affiliate, non-profit, 501-C-3 organization. It trains volunteer tutors, recruits students, and matches students to tutors.

The Richardson Adult Literacy Center will meet the functional literacy needs of adults in our geographic area (Richardson and the RISD) so that new readers can enjoy a better quality of life and can become contributing and productive members of the community.
